Stevie Nicks put a cherry on top of this year’s Sunset Sessions with a last-minute guest appearance with her friend Vanessa Carlton.
Nicks has supported Carlton from the beginning, with the two appearing together on tour and on television – most notably a 2008 Soundstage appearance.
In her set, Carlton referenced “escaping” the major label machine (she’s now signed to Razor and Tie), and a nasty case of writers block that only ended after she holed up in London — living off the song that broke her, A Thousand Miles.
Toward the end of her set, she was joined by Stevie Nicks, who appeared at an interview session at Sunset earlier on Saturday. The two had decided that afternoon to perform together before a crowded room of radio station programmers and television and film music supervisors.
