Airplay Direct Offers Affordable Alternative for Digital Media Delivery

With an almost radical pricing approach, Airplay Direct offers an affordable alternative to Play MPE and DMDS for digital media downloads to radio stations…
Nashville-based Airplay Direct has the opportunity to shake up the digital media delivery business with an extremely affordable pricing structure.
Unlike Play MPE and DMDS, which charge by the individual download, Airplay Direct prices by the album — allowing unlimited downloads to stations.
For example, mid-size labels can buy a 25 album-per-year subscription for $500, while a major can buy an unlimited package for $1000 annually. The money saved on just a single mailing could cover the cost of the service.
Radio syndicators may also find the service an affordable way to get in the game.
Already, 4600 radio stations have accounts, and all new accounts are verified and screened by hand to prevent unauthorized use of the site.
Airplay Direct also provides download metrics.

We have supported Airplay Direct since the day it started. They have always been reliable and as stations decided to begin to use digital delivery, Airplay Direct has always been our first choice. We believe they are truly the future of digital delivery.

Using AirPlay Direct is one of the best moves we’ve made! We signed on with AirPlay Direct in the beginning to help promote the musical legacy of Laurie Z. We then began adding the music of other Indie artists we work with. Not only has AirPlay Direct helped to increase airplay globally, their service provides a “green” eco-friendly alternative to expensive and wasteful packaging. We love the services they provide and we love the people who work there!
The future is now in digital media!
As an independent artist, I like the services of AirPlay Direct. However, subscribing and using their features does NOT mean that my music is discovered or picked up for radio play. I have been submitting my tracks and digital press kit to many stations during the last year, but my stats show zero downloads or plays. I know that my music is not bad, but it’s possible that my ambient downtempo chillout tracks just aren’t as interesting as the rock, hip hop and country most stations on the web prefer?
Our radio station streams the music of independent and underexposed artists from around the world and I am glad that a fellow radio broadcaster told me about AirPlay Direct. AirPlay Direct allows radio stations to find the best independent and underexposed talent.
This is a wonderful concept. The music industry needs more solutions such as these both to keep legacy artist exposed and to provide a platform for indie artist. WDKK Radio is committed to doing both, I am very excited about what I am seeing on this site.
AirPlay Direct has ALWAYS had the artist in mind since inception. This solution has been a long time coming, now is the right time of implementation.
