In reviewing the cream of the crop — the number ones — from 2011, we see that not all the hits get their starts at Public Radio — the multi-formatted, rock-leaning Tastemaker chart takes the occasional lead.

As expected, Public Radio had the most number ones. But the stark reality of just how slow the Commercial AAA chart moves hits home when we see that just seven songs occupied the top spot, and only five different artists managed the feat.

In terms of crossover hits, only Adele, Coldplay, and Death Cab for Cutie managed to reach number one with songs on all three of our charts.

What follows are lists of #1s, along with dates the songs reached #1 (some more than once), and the songs that replaced them at that position.
