Arizona newcomer Zella Day got her start in a family-owned coffeehouse, first gained attention on YouTube, and is now laying the groundwork for her debut album. Check out her latest video…
Raised in the small, mountain town of Pinetop, Arizona, Zella Day first started performing at the Mor Mor Coffee House – a cafe venue and art space run by her parents.
A 2012 cover of The White Stripes’ Seven Nation Army posted to YouTube got some attention, leading to a debut EP in 2014, featuring the single Sweet Ophelia/1965.
Both of those songs will return on her debut full-length Kicker, which comes out June 2.
While Zella Day has been making the rounds at radio and SXSW, many of us will get our first look and listen when she plays the 2015 NON-COMMvention in Philadelphia.
Already in The Top 22, check out the video from Kicker‘s first single, Hypnotic…
