Most of us met Johanna and Klara Söderberg when they were stateside to support their 2014 major label debut, Columbia’s Stay Gold, in 2014.

The twangy two are back with a chart-bound new single called It’s a Shame, from their upcoming fourth album Ruins, which drops January 19. The new set was produced by Tucker Martine (Decemberists, Modest Mouse, My Morning Jacket, Laura Viers, and many others), and features cameos by Peter Buck and Wilco’s Glenn Kotche.

If we want to be technical, First Aid Kit is already in the Triple A Top 22 — in the form of backing vocals on Van Williams’ Revolution.

The groundwork the two have been laying is most certainly paying off. The upcoming headline tour, which starts January 24 in Oakland, already features multiple sold out dates.
